The cottage, in close proximity to Ireland West Airport Knock, is an ideal base for touring the West of Ireland.

After a short drive you can reach many of the most popular destinations in County Mayo. You can walk down the main streets of Westport, Ballina and Castlebar or visit the Museum of Country Life in Turlough near Castlebar, the Kiltimagh Museum and the Foxford Woollen Mills.

If nature inspires you the Wild Atlantic Way is at easy reach; you can travel the Mayo section and discover spectacular natural scenery and breathtaking views: Achill Island, Clew Bay, Erris and the Mullet Peninsula.

Ceide Fields, the unique archaeological site in Mayo, is not far away, as well Croagh Patrick, Ireland's 'Holy Mountain', and the little village of Cong, world famed for the filming of The Quiet Man. In surrounding areas you can discover Ballintubber Abbey, Knock Marian Shrine and Knock Folk Museum.

But you can also plan day-trips across the West of Ireland: Connemara, Sligo, Aran Islands and Galway are within easy reach.

The cottage offers an ideal stay for all enthusiasts of outdoor activities: you have a good range to choose from.

Within easy drive fishermen will enjoy angling on the River Moy, River Robe and Loughs Carra, Mask and Corrib, golfers can experience courses in Claremorris, Ballinrobe, Balla, Castlebar and Westport, while walkers will discover many countryside walking tours.

You can also enjoy riding your bicycle on the unique Great Western Greenway or reach the many Mayo Blue Flag Beaches for a swim.
